In the tropical climate of Malaysia, where afternoon thunderstorms and high humidity are constant, standard indoor electrical fittings are a significant safety hazard. The IMITOS FW-146 Weatherproof Outdoor Smoke IP66 is engineered to bridge the gap between functionality and extreme durability.
Superior IP66 Weatherproof Protection
The "IP66" rating is the gold standard for residential and light commercial outdoor electricals. The first "6" indicates the unit is entirely dust-tight, preventing fine particles from interfering with your wiring. The second "6" signifies protection against powerful water jets. Whether it is a monsoon downpour in Selangor or high-pressure cleaning in a commercial kitchen, the FW-146 remains watertight.
Design & Aesthetic: The Smoke Series
Unlike traditional bulky grey boxes, the IMITOS FW-146 features a sleek Smoke-colored transparent cover. This allows homeowners and contractors to:
- Visually Inspect: Check if the switch is ON or OFF without opening the cover.
- Modern Look: The tinted finish blends seamlessly with modern exterior wall paints and stone claddings.
- UV Resistance: The high-quality polycarbonate material is treated to resist yellowing and brittleness caused by the Malaysian sun.
Spacious Double-Gang Configuration
The FW-146 is designed with a size of 187 × 116 × 112mm, specifically to house two 86×86mm switches or sockets. This "2-Gang" layout is perfect for setups requiring multiple controls, such as a garden light switch paired with a power socket for a water fountain. The extra depth (112mm) ensures that even bulky 3-pin plugs with thick cables can be securely enclosed while the lid is shut.
