Full Description:
Premium Design Meets Modern Interior Aesthetics
Upgrade your home or office electrical fittings with the Schneider Unica X Series 1 Gang 1 Way Switch in Jet Black (NUX31_1_JB). Formulated specifically for modern architectural spaces, the Unica X range introduces an ultra-slim profile that sits flush against interior walls. The rich Jet Black color tint complements modern dark interiors, minimalist designs, industrial themes, and high-end commercial fit-outs. Rather than relying on standard plastics, Schneider Electric utilizes a high-grade stainless steel material, giving this switch a premium tactile feel, corrosion resistance, and high structural integrity.
Superior Technical Performance & High Current Load Handling
Engineered for reliable everyday power control, the NUX31_1_JB switch operates as a 1 Gang 1 Way electromechanical switch rated at 16AX standard current under a 250V AC network voltage (50/60Hz). The "AX" rating indicates high inductive capacity, making this switch capable of handling high inrush currents typically found in modern LED lighting drivers, fluorescent ballast loads, and motor-driven fixtures without contact welding or shorting over time.
- Switch Function: 1 Way control (operates one light circuit from a single wall location).

- Electrical Safety Standard: Fully compliant with IEC 60669-1 and certified for Malaysian power distribution systems.
- IP Protection: Rated IP20, protecting internal components from solid contact and dust particles larger than 12.5 mm.

Q1: What is the difference between a 1-way and 2-way Schneider switch?
A: A 1-way switch controls a light fixture or electrical circuit from one single location. A 2-way switch allows you to control the same light fixture from two different locations (for instance, top and bottom of a staircase).
Q2: Is the Schneider Unica X NUX31_1_JB switch made of plastic or metal?
A: The Schneider Unica X NUX31_1_JB switch body features high-durability stainless steel construction combined with a scratch-resistant Jet Black matte finish for an ultra-modern aesthetic.
Q3: What does the IP20 rating mean on this light switch?
A: An IP20 rating means the switch offers protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm (such as fingers or tools). It is designed purely for dry indoor applications and should not be directly exposed to water or outdoor weather conditions.
Q4: Can I use this Schneider 16AX switch to control LED lights in Malaysia?
A: Yes. The 16AX rating is specifically designed to absorb the initial high inrush current generated by modern LED drivers, preventing the switch contacts from fusing or sparking over long-term use.
Q5: Is Schneider Unica X compatible with standard Malaysian wall backboxes?
A: Yes, the Schneider Unica X series fits standard Malaysian wall backboxes (86mm x 86mm concealed or surface mounting boxes).
Q6: Does the Schneider Unica X Jet Black switch fade or scratch easily?
A: No, the switch is manufactured using high-grade stainless steel with UV-resistant coatings, ensuring the Jet Black color does not fade, yellow, or scratch during everyday use.
Q7: What international standards does Schneider Unica X NUX31_1_JB comply with?
A: The switch is certified according to the IEC 60669-1 standard, fulfilling all international and local Malaysian electrical safety regulations for household wall switches.
Q8: Where can I buy original Schneider UnicaX switches in Malaysia?
A: Authentic Schneider UnicaX switches can be purchased from authorized Schneider Electric distributors, electrical supply shops, or official flagship e-commerce stores (Shopee Mall / LazMall) in Malaysia.
