Safety is paramount when placing electrical outlets near sink basins and bathroom zones. The Schneider NUXT727V_DB features an integrated safety isolating transformer that isolates the user supply from mains earth, significantly reducing the risk of electric shocks in moist conditions.
- IP Degree of Protection: IP21 (Protected against vertically falling water drops and solid objects greater than 12.5mm).
- Safety Standard Compliance: Certified to IEC 61558-2-5 standard for safety of transformers, power supply units, and shaver sockets.
Seamless Vertical Flush Mount Design
Engineered for clean architectural lines, the unit features a vertical orientation designed for flush mount installation into standard wall boxes. The ultra-slim profile sits flat against tiled or plastered wall surfaces, preventing dust accumulation and providing a streamlined visual layout alongside mirror lighting and vanity switches.
Key Installation Guidelines & Usage Notes
-
Professional Installation Required: Installation should be conducted by a certified Chargeman or electrician in accordance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) and local wiring guidelines.
-
Dedicated Bathroom Wiring: Designed specifically for low-current grooming devices such as electric shavers, trimmers, and toothbrush chargers. Not intended for high-wattage appliances like hair dryers or curling irons.
- Zone Placement: Thanks to its IP21 safety rating and isolating transformer, it is suitable for installation in Zone 2 / Zone 3 bathroom areas outside direct water spray contact.

Q1: What is the primary purpose of the Schneider Unica X Shaver Socket (NUXT727V_DB)?
A:The Schneider Unica X NUXT727V_DB shaver socket provides dual-voltage power (115V and 230V) safely in bathroom environments. It features an internal isolating transformer that reduces shock risks when plugging in personal care items like shavers and electric toothbrushes near water sources.
Q2: Can I charge an international 110V or 115V device using this socket in Malaysia?
A: Yes. The socket accepts standard 230V Malaysian mains input power and safely steps it down to provide a 115V AC output alongside a standard 230V AC output, allowing international grooming appliances to operate without separate converters.
Q3: What finish and material is used for the Schneider NUXT727V_DB faceplate?
A: The NUXT727V_DB features a premium Dark Bronze finish over a durable stainless steel body, delivering a metallic texture that resists corrosion, tarnishing, and fingerprint smudges.
Q4: What is the installation orientation and mounting type for this product?
A: It is designed for vertical orientation and requires a flush-mount installation inside standard concealed electrical backboxes.
Q5: What safety standards does this Schneider shaver socket comply with?
A: The Schneider Unica X shaver socket complies with IEC 61558-2-5, the global safety benchmark governing isolating transformers for shaver units.
Q6: Why choose the Dark Bronze version (NUXT727V_DB) over standard white plastic switches?
A: Dark Bronze offers a modern aesthetic popular in luxury residential and boutique hotel projects. Its stainless steel core provides superior structural durability and chemical resistance compared to conventional plastic switch plates.
