Q1: Can the Schneider E8332PRL1_GH_G11 be used for normal lighting control?
A: Typically, no. Because it is a 4A retractive (momentary) switch, it is designed to send a brief signal pulse. It is commonly used with smart home systems, lighting control dimming modules, or doorbell ringers rather than direct on/off switching of heavy standard loads, unless paired with a pulse relay.
Q2: Is this switch compatible with standard Malaysian wall mounting boxes?
A: Yes, it features standard flush device mounting designed to fit seamlessly into standard Malaysian electrical back boxes.
Q3: Can I change the cover plate of the AvatarOn Gold Hairline switch later?
A: Yes! The AvatarOn series features a unique changeable faceplate design, allowing you to swap out frames and covers easily without removing the base wiring.
Q4: What materials are used to manufacture this switch?
A: It is constructed primarily from robust, fire-retardant Polycarbonate (PC) for the base, cover, grid plate, surround, and dolly, complemented by durable Brass terminal covers.
Q5: What is the IP rating, and is it suitable for bathrooms?
A: It has an IP20 protection degree, meaning it is indoor-rated and protected against solid objects larger than 12mm, but it is not waterproof and should not be installed in wet zones without proper protection.
Q6: Where can I buy genuine Schneider AvatarOn switches in Malaysia?
A: You can purchase genuine Schneider AvatarOn series items from authorized Schneider Electric distributors, certified electrical suppliers, and official hardware flagship stores across Malaysia (such as in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor).
