Q1: What is the difference between a standard 1-way switch and the Schneider Affle Plus Momentary Switch?
A: A standard 1-way switch stays in its toggled "on" or "off" position until manually flipped back. A momentary switch (like the A3GN31PR_WE) features a spring-loaded mechanism that only makes contact while pressed, automatically springing back to its original state. It is primarily used for doorbells, lighting pulse triggers, or automated control relays.
Q2: Is the Schneider Affle Plus A3GN31PR_WE compatible with standard Malaysian wall boxes?
A: Yes. Featuring standard dimensions of 86mm x 86mm and flush mounting compatibility, it fits seamlessly into standard surface or flush-mounted electrical wall boxes widely used across Malaysia.
Q3: Can I use this momentary switch for my house doorbell?
A: Yes, 1-gang momentary switches are widely deployed across Malaysian homes as reliable mechanical doorbell push buttons or shutter/gate pulse controls.
Q4: What safety standards does the Schneider A3GN31PR_WE comply with?
A: This product complies with IEC 60669-1 / EN 60669-1 international standards for switches in household and similar fixed electrical installations.
Q5: What is the IP rating, and can it be installed outdoors?
A: It features an IP20 protection rating, meaning it is designed for indoor use. It is protected against solid objects larger than 12mm but is not waterproof, so it should not be exposed directly to rain or moisture.
Q6: Does this switch require a neutral wire for installation?
A: No, as a standard mechanical 1-gang momentary switch, it interrupts or pulses the live line based on your wiring design. However, always consult a certified Suruhanjaya Tenaga-registered electrician for safe installation.
Q7: Where can I buy authentic Schneider Affle Plus switches in Malaysia?
A: Authentic units are available through authorized electrical hardware distributors, lighting specialty shops, and verified flagship online stores on Shopee and Lazada Malaysia.
